The Government of India on Saturday issued a series of safety advisories for its nationals in Iran, Israel, Qatar and Jordan after coordinated military action by the Donald Trump-led United States and Benjamin Netanyahu’s forces against targets in Iran, significantly escalating regional instability.

Following the strikes, which prompted powerful explosions in Tehran and air-raid sirens in Israel, Indian missions in the affected countries urged citizens to remain vigilant, follow local safety instructions and adjust travel plans as the crisis evolves.

In Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tehran advised all Indian nationals to exercise “utmost caution”, avoid unnecessary movements and remain indoors as far as possible amid the developing situation. Indians were told to monitor news and await further guidance from the mission.

The Indian Embassy in Israel issued an advisory calling on Indian nationals to “exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times,” strictly adhere to safety guidance from Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command, and stay close to designated shelters. It also urged citizens to avoid all non-essential travel until further notice.

In Qatar, the Indian Embassy in Doha likewise advised all Indian nationals to take due care in view of the regional situation, closely follow news and advisories issued by the Embassy and local authorities, and remain cautious. It emphasised that the mission continues to operate normally and provided its 24×7 helpline number — 00974-55647502 — and email (cons.doha@mea.gov.in

) for any queries.

The Indian Embassy in Jordan issued an urgent advisory for Indian nationals and tourists, urging them to exercise “utmost caution” and follow local instructions. The mission further advised that all Indian tourists should consider leaving the country immediately before commercial flight operations are potentially disrupted, and provided assistance contacts including a helpline at 00962-770 422 276.

The advisories come against a backdrop of heightened tensions across the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched a coordinated military operation against Iran’s facilities and infrastructure, described as a pre-emptive response to perceived threats. The strikes have triggered military activity across the region, flying aircraft closures and emergency alerts in several countries.

India’s government continues to closely monitor the situation, maintain contact with local authorities and issue updates to safeguard its citizens abroad as events unfold.
