The Indian Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, honoured the veterans on Thursday for their exemplary service to the nation. The COAS presented the ‘Veteran Achievers Award’ at Bikaner Military Station to four veterans for their exceptional contributions, even after they had retired from the forces.
The official X handle of the Indian Army praised these veterans for their service to the nation beyond the call of duty, and shared how they are bringing a positive change and uplifting society for the betterment.
Lieutenant Colonel Birbal Bishnoi (Retd) -
Bikaner's young boys and girls have been receiving free basketball lessons from Lt Col Bishnoi at various institutions.
Lieutenant Colonel K Hem Singh Shekhawat (Retd)-
He is running a charitable Ayurvedic Aushdhalaya and managing Shri Mohta Ayurvedic Rasayanshala as Chief Administrator for the last decade, and is also contributing towards the promotion of tourism activities in Bikaner.
Risaldar Bhanwar Singh (Retd) -
He is the Sarpanch of Nokha Chandavata village at the moment and has played a key role in starting a number of development projects for the betterment of rural areas.
Havildar Nakat Singh (Retd)-
The New Red Shooting Club in Bikaner was founded by Havildar Nakat Singh (Retd). He offers young boys and girls free instruction in the 10 metre air pistol. His efforts to develop talent have resulted in youngsters taking part in a variety of National & State level competitions.

Besides this, the “Veteran Achievers Award” was conferred on Col Shagun Bhatnagar (Retd), Maj Aditya Vikram Singh (Retd), L/ Nk Sodha Dipubha Ratanji (Retd), and Nk Bharat Bhai J Suthar (Retd) on Monday.
Col Shagun Bhatnagar (Retd)-
He has been instrumental in uplifting the Veteran community in Kutch District by actively facilitating operational and training events, including the Multi-Modal Adventure Expedition, strengthening civil-military bonds through community outreach in local schools and villages.
Maj Aditya Vikram Singh (Retd) -
He is now serving as DGM (HR & Admin) at Adani Green RE Park. He had provided vital engineering aid and logistics support during Operation Sindoor, assisting in the successful deployment of troops in Rann. Post-retirement, he continues to embody leadership and dedication.
Nk Bharat Bhai J Suthar (Retd) -
At present, he is serving as Secretary, Kutch ESM Association. He has been pivotal in mobilising veterans’ participation in rallies, outreach programmes, and in addressing veteran welfare issues across Kutch District.
L/ Nk Sodha Dipubha Ratanji (Retd) -
During the recent monsoons, he showed extraordinary dedication to disaster management by making sure that people and animals in flood-affected areas were safe. Additionally, his efforts made sure that PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) was implemented successfully for worthy families.
