The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to everyone present at the event and to the people of Panchkula. He highlighted the significance of Raahgiri programmes, which are organised every Sunday. He encouraged the youth to join these programmes and stay away from harmful substances.

Saini also spoke about the state's achievements, particularly in providing employment without corruption and the success of Haryana's athletes on the global stage. He congratulated the players from Haryana who have won medals and brought glory to the state and the nation. The Chief Minister's speech was well-received by the attendees, who appreciated his commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Raahgiri is a weekly event where streets are closed to vehicular traffic, allowing people to cycle, play, dance, perform yoga, and do aerobics. This initiative, inspired by Bogota's “Ciclovia,” has become popular worldwide under different names like Open Streets and Summer Streets. The aim of Raahgiri Day is to provide citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets, connect with their community, celebrate their city, and reclaim their lives.

According to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Raahgiri Day helps citizens connect with their community and celebrate their city. The streets identified for Raahgiri Day are cordoned off for motorised transport, making them safe for cycling, walking, running, skating, playing, and other activities.

Children and adults are invited to participate in various activities such as biking, skating, running, and walking. They can also partake in community leisure activities like street games and street dancing, as well as learn yoga, aerobics, and Zumba.

The Raahgiri Day programme in Panchkula witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all ages. The event provided a platform for community members to come together, engage in healthy activities, and foster a sense of unity and well-being. It also served as a reminder of the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

Earlier in July, a Raahgiri Day programme was organised at Arjun Chowk in Haryana, which also saw active participation from the community. These events have become a significant part of Haryana's efforts to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among its citizens.
