Congress Plans Ahead for Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir Polls.

The Congress party has initiated its strategy sessions for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections scheduled for later this year. The consultations aim to develop a robust plan and strengthen the organisation in the state. Similar strategy sessions will be held this week for other poll-bound states, including Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi led the discussions with leaders from Jharkhand. All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal was also in attendance.

During the meeting, Kharge emphasised the party's dedication to securing the rights of all sections of Jharkhand, particularly concerning water, forest, land, and the tribal society.

Kharge took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the party's commitment to social justice and participation. He highlighted the need for every Congress worker to remain actively engaged with the public in preparation for the upcoming Assembly election. He accused the BJP of insulting Jharkhand's identity through conspiratorial politics and stressed the importance of staying connected with the community.

Jharkhand Congress chief Rajesh Thakur, state Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and other senior party leaders like Ajoy Kumar were present at the meeting. They discussed various aspects of the election strategy and ways to enhance the party's outreach and effectiveness in the state.

The Congress party has planned similar strategy meetings for Maharashtra on Tuesday and for Haryana on Wednesday. The strategy session for Jammu and Kashmir, where the election date is yet to be announced, will take place on Thursday.

These meetings are part of the Congress leadership's proactive approach following their performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls. The party is keen to build on this momentum and prepare extensively for the Assembly elections.

The Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jharkhand are slated for later this year. The tenure of the Maharashtra Assembly ends on November 26, while that of the Haryana Assembly concludes on November 3.

The Jharkhand Assembly's tenure will end on January 5, 2025. Additionally, the Supreme Court has directed that elections in Jammu and Kashmir should be held before September 30.

Through these strategy sessions, the Congress aims to devise comprehensive plans to tackle the upcoming elections effectively and strengthen its presence in these states.

The leadership is focused on ensuring the party is well-prepared and connected with the grassroots to secure a strong performance in the forthcoming polls.
