CM Sawant seeks PM Modi's guidance for Viksit Goa

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday to seek guidance on building 'Viksit Goa' as part of the Centre's ambitious 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision. During the meeting, Sawant congratulated Modi on becoming Prime Minister for a third consecutive term and expressed his wishes for a successful tenure.

 

According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Sawant emphasised the importance of the Prime Minister's guidance and support in achieving the goal of a developed Goa. "The CM stated that during the interaction he sought Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji's guidance and support to build a Viksit Goa under the ambitious vision of Viksit Bharat 2047," the release mentioned.

 

In addition to his meeting with the Prime Minister, Sawant also met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. During this meeting, he extended an invitation to Gadkari to inaugurate the six-lane link road connecting National Highway 66 to the Manohar International Airport in Mopa, North Goa. This new infrastructure is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost the region's development.

 

The statement further mentioned that Gadkari was invited to lay the foundation stone for a four-lane connectivity road from MES College Junction to Bogmalo Junction in South Goa. This project is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure in the state, facilitating smoother and faster travel for residents and tourists alike.

 

Sawant's visit to Delhi also included a meeting with BJP president JP Nadda, who was sworn in as Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare on June 9. Sawant congratulated Nadda on his new role and wished him success in his tenure, highlighting the collaborative spirit within the party and the importance of strong leadership in driving the nation's progress.

 

These meetings underscore Sawant's commitment to accelerating Goa's development through strategic collaborations and seeking guidance from central leaders.

 

The focus on infrastructure projects, such as the six-lane link road and the four-lane connectivity road, reflects the state's aim to bolster its transportation network, thereby supporting economic growth and improving the quality of life for its citizens.

 

As part of the broader 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision, Goa's development plans align with the national goal of transforming India into a developed country by 2047. This vision includes enhancing infrastructure, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring inclusive growth across all states and union territories.
