The core members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will meet on August 5 to chart the organisation's future course following its month-long agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak, sources in the outfit said on Sunday.

 

The meeting will be held at the residence of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where the leadership is expected to review the campaign and discuss the organisation's next phase of action. The outfit will announce its decisions at a press conference after the meeting, the sources said.

 

According to party insiders, CJP activists and volunteers have been asked to spend time with their families after returning from the prolonged protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, which concluded last month. They have also been instructed to interact with students and volunteers in their respective areas and gather feedback and suggestions before attending the August 5 meeting.

 

The inputs collected during these interactions are expected to form the basis of discussions on the organisation's future strategy, including its next programmes and outreach initiatives.

 

The CJP-led protest over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination drew participation from students and young people from across the country and remained at the centre of national attention for several weeks. The agitation sought reforms in the examination system and greater accountability in the conduct of competitive entrance tests.

 

Meanwhile, Dipke spent Sunday meeting students, local residents and visitors from neighbouring districts at his residence. He also celebrated Friendship Day with children who visited him, according to sources.

 

The outfit has not disclosed its proposed agenda beyond the August 5 meeting but said a formal announcement on its future course of action will be made after deliberations by the core committee.

 

The meeting comes days after the conclusion of the CJP's Delhi protest, which the organisation described as the first phase of its campaign. Party leaders have indicated that the next phase will be shaped after consultations with volunteers, students and core members.

 

The CJP is expected to outline its organisational roadmap and future programmes at the conclusion of the strategy meeting, providing clarity on how it plans to carry forward its campaign in the coming weeks.
