BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj Criticises CM Kejriwal And AAP For Ignoring Slums Of Delhi.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj criticised the Delhi government for failing to provide clean drinking water to the slum dwellers of Malviya Nagar, particularly at Indira camp and Valmiki basti.

Leading a public rally alongside other BJP workers, Swaraj voiced her concerns about the lack of basic amenities in these areas and accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of neglecting the people’s needs for the past decade. The rally was part of a larger effort by the BJP to highlight the shortcomings of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's administration.

Swaraj specifically pointed out the dire water situation in the slums, where residents struggle to access clean drinking water. She noted that in some areas, a single tap serves three entire slums, a far cry from the promises made by the AAP government to provide piped water to all.

The situation is further worsened by the fact that the water being supplied is contaminated, potentially harmful, and unfit for consumption. Swaraj questioned how long the residents of Delhi would have to endure these false promises, emphasising that the lack of clean water is just one example of the government’s failure to deliver on its commitments.

In addition to the water crisis, Swaraj also criticised the AAP government for failing to provide reliable electricity to these slums. She highlighted that many areas are left in darkness, with residents receiving neither free water nor free electricity, despite promises made by the government. This lack of essential services, she argued, reflects a broader neglect of the needs of Delhi’s poorest citizens by the current administration.

Joining Swaraj in the criticism, BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from the South Delhi constituency also held a rally against the Delhi government. Bidhuri focused on the high electricity bills that slum dwellers are forced to pay, despite the poor quality of service they receive.

He also condemned the government for its failure to issue new ration cards and for not providing old-age pensions to the elderly, leaving many vulnerable citizens without the support they need.

Bidhuri pointed out that the distribution of ration cards has been halted for the past six years, depriving many poor families of their basic entitlements. Similarly, the government has failed to deliver old-age pensions for the last six to seven years, leaving elderly citizens without financial support.

Bidhuri's remarks underscored the broader dissatisfaction with the Kejriwal government's handling of welfare programs, particularly for the most vulnerable sections of society.

The rallies led by Swaraj and Bidhuri are part of a larger campaign by the BJP to hold the AAP government accountable for what they see as its numerous failures to deliver on its promises.
