The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a crucial meeting of its office-bearers on August 17 in New Delhi. This meeting will focus on several key issues including membership drives, preparations for upcoming assembly elections, and organisational elections within the party.

 

The meeting will be led by BJP President JP Nadda. Key attendees will include BJP state chiefs, general secretaries, and other senior office-bearers. BL Santosh, the party's general secretary for organisation, will also be present. This will be the first major gathering of BJP office-bearers since the recent Lok Sabha elections.

 

The upcoming assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand are particularly important for the BJP. After falling short of an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha polls, the party is keen to strengthen its position. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the BJP continues to head the third successive NDA government at the Centre.

 

In Maharashtra and Haryana, where the BJP is already in power, the party did not meet its expectations in the recent Lok Sabha elections. To address this, the party has started ramping up its preparations for the assembly polls. The governments in both states have made several announcements aimed at benefiting the public.
