In a strategic effort to connect with female voters ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP has launched a unique outreach program featuring Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On August 18, the day before Rakshabandhan, women across the state will have the opportunity to engage directly with Fadnavis.

The announcement was made by Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the Maharashtra BJP chief, through a post on X. He highlighted the initiative as a special occasion for women to interact with Fadnavis under the program titled ‘Ladkya Bahinincha Devabhau,’ meaning ‘Brother of Beloved Sisters.’

Bawankule encouraged all mothers and sisters in Maharashtra to take part in this event and urged BJP workers, particularly those from the Mahila Morcha, to ensure broad participation.

This initiative is part of the BJP’s broader strategy to appeal to women voters, particularly in light of the party’s and its allies’ focus on the ‘Mukhamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ ahead of the Assembly elections. Bawankule emphasised the government's commitment to women’s empowerment through various schemes and activities.

He pointed out that the Modi government has introduced significant measures for women’s advancement, including the Women’s Reservation Bill and other policies aimed at increasing opportunities for women. In a symbolic gesture of gratitude, 25 lakh women from Maharashtra will send Rakhis to Fadnavis to thank him for the Ladki Bahin scheme.

Additionally, the first instalment of the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme is set to be credited to women’s accounts on August 17, further underscoring the BJP’s commitment to supporting women across the state.

This outreach program reflects the BJP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its connection with women voters and demonstrate its dedication to women’s issues in the run-up to the elections.
