Ayodhya, the city of Lord Rama, glittered with thousands of earthen lamps on Sunday, making history during the Chhoti Diwali celebrations.
The holy city was bathed in a river of more than 26 lakh diyas, while registering two Guinness World Records. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the certificates for the world records.
The records were set at the Saryu riverbank, where the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and the District Administration organised Deepotsav.

The festival featured the largest display of oil lamps, with 26,17,215 diyas, and the most people simultaneously performing diya rotation, or aarti.
Thousands of devotees gathered at Ram Ki Paidi along the banks of the Saryu River to witness the grand spectacle, which highlighted the city’s spiritual and cultural heritage on an unprecedented scale.
A spectacular laser and light show illuminated Ram Ki Paidi, the site where Lord Rama is believed to have attained Nirvana. The event combined the glow of thousands of diyas with vibrant lights, creating a historic and visually stunning Deepotsav celebration.
