Yami Gautam-starrer Article 370, which received a thumping release this weekend, has hit a roadblock with its ban in Gulf countries. Although no official explanation has been issued by the certification board behind the step, such a move will affect the film’s business in the international market. Till now, the movie has minted over Rs 30 crore.

The movie has received praises from several quarters and the ban in Gulf countries resonates with the fate of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter. It was also banned in the Gulf countries, except UAE.

The ban has come as a surprise, given the fact that Indian cinema has a big fan following in Gulf countries.

In the movie, Gautam plays the role of an intelligence officer. As the name suggests, the movie is based on the abrogation of Article 370, thus, set up against the backdrop of the valley. It revolves around the discussion related to revoking of Article 370 and the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film also features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, gave a shout out to the film while travelling across Jammu. In response to which Gautam expressed her gratitude.
