Air India Express on Thursday announced the restoration of services to all its West Asia destinations, resuming flights to Salalah in Oman and Kuwait after operations were suspended amid regional tensions triggered by the recent conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.

 

The airline said services on the Kozhikode-Salalah route resumed on Thursday, while flights between Kozhikode and Kuwait will restart from July 3. Services connecting Bengaluru and Kuwait are scheduled to resume from July 4.

 

It said flight frequencies to and from West Asia would be increased in phases over the coming days to meet growing travel demand. Initially, the Kozhikode-Salalah route will operate twice a week. The Kozhikode-Kuwait service will begin with one weekly flight from July 3 before increasing to three weekly services from July 5. Similarly, Bengaluru-Kuwait flights will start with one weekly service on July 4 and expand to three weekly flights from July 7.

 

The airline has also reinstated flights between Muscat and Mangaluru from July 3. With the restoration of Salalah services, Air India Express now operates from two airports in Oman-Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport. It currently operates around 40 weekly flights from Muscat to seven destinations across India.

Passengers travelling to and from Kuwait have been informed that all Air India Express flights will operate from Terminal 4 of Kuwait International Airport.

 

The airline advised travellers to make bookings through its official website, mobile application and other authorised booking platforms.

 

Air India Express had suspended several West Asia services after airlines across the world curtailed or rerouted operations because of airspace disruptions caused by the recent military conflict in the region.

 

Separately, the airline recently announced that bookings had opened for its direct flights between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi from July 15, making it the first carrier to operate international services from Maharashtra's new greenfield airport.
