Tel Aviv Flights On Hold By Air India Amid Middle East Conflict.

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Air India has decided to suspend its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 8. The airline announced this move in response to the current situation, emphasising the safety of its passengers and crew as the top priority.

Air India stated that it is closely monitoring developments and is offering support to passengers who had confirmed bookings for travel to Tel Aviv during this period. The airline is providing a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges to accommodate affected passengers.

The decision comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the death of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in an attack in Tehran, Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that Haniyeh and his bodyguard were killed when their residence was hit. Haniyeh had travelled to Tehran for the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian President-elect.

Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the death of Hamas military wing commander Mohammed Deif in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF announced that Deif was killed on July 13, following a targeted strike at a compound in Khan Younis, where he was believed to be present.

The IDF also reported the death of top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon. Shukr was responsible for Hezbollah's advanced weaponry and planning terror attacks against Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel has delivered significant blows to its enemies in recent days, referring to the deaths of key figures in Hamas and Hezbollah.

Air India continues to prioritise the safety of its passengers and crew, and it remains vigilant in assessing the situation. Passengers with bookings to and from Tel Aviv are advised to stay in touch with the airline for updates and assistance.
