US President Donald Trump has announced a two-week ceasefire of hostilities with Iran, on the condition that shipping traffic is allowed to resume freely through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced his country's willingness to end the fighting 'if attacks against Iran are halted'. Israel has not reacted to the ceasefire yet.
The US president had earlier issued a firm deadline of 20:00 EDT (01:00 GMT), warning that failure to reach a deal would mean 'a whole civilisation will die tonight'.
