Now, there’s an island on the name of Indian Singer, Musician, and Assam’s cultural icon, Zubeen Garg. The island where the singer died has been renamed “Zubeen Garg Island” on Google Maps.
Garg was taken unconscious from the water off St. John's Island, off the coast of Singapore, on September 19. He was then taken to Singapore General Hospital but passed away on the same day.
As per the recent update, the Northeast India Festival organiser, Shyamkanu Mahanta, who was detained in relation to singer Zubeen Garg's death case, has petitioned the Supreme Court to have the investigation transferred from the Assam Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) to a central organisation like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
