As many as seven people were killed in Pakistan and one was injured after TTP terrorists attacked a peace committee office in the Bannu region on Friday, officials said.
Police said the attack targeted the office of the peace committee head, Qari Jaleel. The deceased have been identified as Danish, Kamran, Waliullah, Sufyan, Muhammad Niaz, Noman, and Sufyan.
All the victims and the injured were rushed to the nearby district headquarters hospital, and an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
On Thursday, Pakistani authorities confirmed that the security forces had killed 23 terrorists affiliated with the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in the Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The first of the two anti-terror operations was carried out on November 19 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of some terrorists in the area. During the first engagement, security forces gunned down 12 Khwarijis in the hours-long operation, they said.
In the second operation, based on further intelligence about another group in the same area, security forces conducted a second operation, successfully neutralising 11 more terrorists.
Separately, a UNSC report overseeing the terror groups operating in the region said the Afghan Taliban was providing logistical and ground support to the terror groups, further adding that TTP has 6000 active terrorist members who are posing a massive threat to the nation.
