President Joe Biden reaffirmed his confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris’s qualifications to lead the country, emphasizing her capability to assume the presidency if required.

Speaking at a press conference, Biden addressed questions about Harris’s readiness for the top job and highlighted her impressive track record.

“From the very beginning, I made no bones about that. She is qualified to be the president. That's why I picked her,” Biden stated.

He praised Harris for her handling of critical issues, particularly regarding women's rights, and her adeptness in managing diverse responsibilities.

“Firstly, because of the way she's handled the issue of freedom of women's bodies, to have control of their bodies and secondly, her ability to handle almost any issue on the board,” Biden elaborated.

He recounted Harris’s distinguished career as a prosecutor and her effective tenure in the Senate, asserting, “This was a hell of a prosecutor. She was a first-rate person and in the Senate, she was really good. I wouldn't have picked her unless I thought she was qualified to be the president.”

During the press conference, Biden inadvertently referred to Harris as Donald Trump. He quickly corrected himself, saying, “I wouldn't have picked Trump to be the vice president, did I think she was not qualified to be president….” He clarified his stance, stating, “The fact is that the consideration is that I think I'm the most qualified person to run for president. I beat him once and I will beat him again.”

Addressing concerns about his re-election campaign, Biden dismissed any worries about his ticket’s impact on other Democratic candidates. “The idea that senators and congressmen are running for office worrying about the ticket is not unusual. And I might add, there were at least five presidents running or incumbent presidents who had lower numbers than I have now later in a campaign,” he noted.

Despite being 81 years old, Biden expressed his determination and fitness to seek re-election, countering any doubts about his age and capabilities. “I'm determined and fit to seek re-election against my Republican rival Donald Trump. A stupid mistake by me will not change my course as I have work to finish,” he declared.

Responding to queries at the conclusion of the NATO Summit, Biden asserted that no poll or person currently doubts his chances of winning re-election. “I'm determined on running,” he said.
