Israeli authorities said on Thursday that they were ready to resume the stalled Gaza talks with Hamas on a truce and hostage release arrangement to halt the onslaught that has been ongoing since October 7, as per reports.

Three European nations said on Wednesday that they would recognise a Palestinian state, increasing global pressure on Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call off the fighting.

Domestic pressure has also increased as supporters of hostages held in Gaza demonstrated outside Netanyahu's office, fervently demanding action to rescue them.

Despite reluctance from the Israeli war cabinet and the threat of resignation from several Israeli ministers, Netanyahu pledged to continue battling Hamas to "ensure that what we saw tonight never happens again," as further bombs were dropped on Gaza Strip targets overnight.

However, his office also stated that the war cabinet had directed the Israeli negotiating team to "continue negotiations for the return of the hostages."

Facing international pressure, more nations have joined in to recognise a Palestinian state, forcing Israel to resume truce talks.

However, its all-weather ally, the United States, has made it clear that it will keep supporting Israel unconditionally in the ongoing Gaza invasion.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the ongoing war has crossed 35647, the majority of whom are children and women.

According to the latest reports, Gaza's civil defence service has said that two pre-dawn Israeli air strikes killed 26 people including 15 children in Gaza city amid violent fighting between IDF and rebels across the Palestinian enclave.
