Shamita Shetty is not holding back against online trolls.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the actress delivered a sharp retort to critics policing her over her age and marital status, calling out their regressive mindset and demanding an end to the judgment surrounding women's personal choices.
Exposing the trolls, Shamita shared screenshots of their comments on her Instagram Story. She even went ahead and asked them to unfollow her.
The first comment that Shamita shared, read: "Aapki age ho gayi hai pehle wali baat nahi rahi (You have grown old now; you are not the same as before)."
To this, the 47-year-old actress replied, "Yes I will look different. Things change with time it's the natural way of life.. nothing stays forever including physical appearance! BUT For my age I'm healthy, fit and happy with a grateful heart for all that the almighty has given me.. and that's all that matters to me."

She then went on to share another comment, which read, "Agar shaadi time par kar leti toh aapke bache aaj bade ho gaye hote (If you had gotten married on time, your children would have grown up by now)."
To this, an angry Shamita replied, "Aapne shaadi karke kya ukhaad liya hai bhai? (What have you achieved after getting married?) Most importantly why the hell do u follow us single women to age shame us and inflict us with your patriarchal, cave-man like.. male centric thought process! Pl do me a favour n unfollow me pronto!"
Shamita is known for her debut performance in Aditya Chopra's 2000 directorial “Mohabbatein” that earned her the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year (Female).
However, despite lead roles in films like “Fareb” and “Zeher”, she could not gain enough prominence in Bollywood.
In the last couple of years, Shamita garnered a new fan base with her stints on reality TV shows such as “Khatron Ke Khiladi”, “Bigg Boss OTT 1”, and “Bigg Boss 15”. She was last seen in the web series “The Tenant”.
