The long-awaited day has finally arrived for South cinema’s most talked-about couple, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, who are set to tie the knot today, February 26. The wedding festivities kicked off in style in Udaipur on February 24 with a traditional Haldi ceremony, followed by a vibrant Mehendi and Sangeet on February 25. Today marks the official start of their new journey together as they exchange vows in what has been one of the most closely guarded celebrity weddings of the year.
Opting for an intimate affair, the couple has invited only their inner circle of friends and family. However, several famous faces from the South Indian film industry have been spotted touching down at Udaipur airport, including directors Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Tharun Bhascker, along with actors Eesha Rebba, Ashika Ranganath and Rahul Ravindran.
The ceremony is taking place at the stunning ITC Mementos, a secluded luxury retreat nestled in the Aravalli hills. The property, which reportedly costs around ₹75,000 per night, offers total privacy and even features its own helipad.
In a surprising and high-profile gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a letter of congratulations to the couple. Reaching out to wish them well on their "divinely scripted" new chapter, the PM noted that while both are used to film scripts, this real-life union— rooted in the spirit of 'sakha saptpada bhava'— would surely outshine any magic they’ve created on screen. He described the marriage as a beautiful beginning where the two become "friends for life."
