Actor-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut, actor and Member of Parliament, recently expressed her opinion on the concept of "Monday Blues," stating that it is a Western concept.

She took to her Instagram story to share her thoughts on the popular Monday memes circulating on social media.

Ranaut stressed that as a developing country, India should not succumb to the idea of dreading Mondays and complaining about work.

She highlighted the need to normalise what she referred to as an "obsessive work culture" to contribute to the country's progress.

Sharing a video of PM Narendra Modi discussing making India a developed country by 2047, Kangana wrote on Instagram, "We need to normalise obsessive work culture and stop with waiting for the weekends and complaining about Mondays memes (sic)."

She continued, "That's all Western brainwashing; we are not a developed nation yet, and we can't afford to be bored and lazy at all (sic)."

Kangana Ranaut was elected to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh, making her the fourth woman from the state and the first woman not belonging to a royal family.

In the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, she won over her Congress opponent Vikramaditya Singh, the incumbent state public works minister and scion of Rampur state, with a lead of 74,755 votes.

During one of her interviews during the election campaign, Kangana was asked whether she would quit Bollywood if she won the Mandi seat. In the affirmative, Kangana responded, “The film world is a lie. Everything there is fake. They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world, like a fake bubble, which is to attract the audience. This is the reality.”

Meanwhile, Kangana's first film after being elected as an MP, 'Emergency,' has yet to be released. In the movie, she plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
