Bollywood’s beloved filmmaker and fashion icon Karan Johar is set to storm the Met Gala red carpet in a custom Manish Malhotra.
The celebrity designer confirmed the news on CBS’s Saturday Morning, promising "a lot more on the red carpet".
"This time I’m gonna be designing for a very big director who’s known for his fashion and movies, Karan Johar... There’s gonna be a lot more coming up on the red carpet… let’s wait and watch," Malhotra said.
The filmmaker has worn several outfits by the designer over the years.

Last year, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan made his debut at the event. He wore an attire by Sabyasachi, which comprised an all-black bespoke outfit, complete with crystal chains and a dandy cane.

The Met Gala is an annual high-profile fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. This year, it will take place on Monday, May 4. The theme for this year is Costume Art.
Several celebrities are expected to attend the event, including Rihanna and Zendaya, among others.
