The ongoing public friction between actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut has resurfaced following a fresh exchange on social media, with Kangana urging Hrithik to "stop adding fuel to the fire and embarrassing your partner".
Her comments came shortly after Hrithik addressed the viral "We Need to Apologise to Hrithik" trend online, advising the public against being influenced by prevailing social media narratives. Hrithik remarked that he preferred to wait for factual context before taking a stance, even as online users widely connected the trending topic to the pair's high-profile 2016 dispute.
Sharing a news snippet detailing his statement on Instagram Stories, Kangana criticised Hrithik for not calling out those she claimed were using his name to target and harass her. In her post, she noted that she was pleased he had found happiness with his current partner, Saba Azad, offering her well wishes to the couple. However, she cautioned him against making subtle digs, suggesting his remarks were only aggravating the situation. Addressing him directly, she wrote that as someone in a committed relationship, it was inappropriate to engage in such behaviour, adding that he should instead condemn those bullying her in his name and refrain from making unnecessary public comments.
The exchange was initiated earlier in the day when Hrithik replied to an Instagram post by writer Freddy Birdy, which read "The World Owes An Apology To Hrithik Roshan". Responding to the shift in public sentiment, Hrithik commented that siding with one party simply out of distaste for another reflected a broader systemic issue in society, adding that he would wait for a conversation driven by facts and proper context.
This recent surge in online discussion follows remarks made by Kangana regarding student protests, which prompted a back-and-forth with Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das. In response to her critique, Das light-heartedly suggested that his friends had teased him about Kangana targeting him because of a resemblance to a younger Hrithik Roshan.
The pair's legal and public fallout originally erupted in 2016 after Kangana referred to Hrithik as a "silly ex" during an interview. Hrithik firmly denied ever having a romantic relationship with her, initiating a bitter legal feud marked by formal notices, public statements, and disputed email exchanges that have continued to draw attention years later.
