Ayushmann Khurrana is currently on a U.S. tour, performing in cities like Chicago, New York, and San Jose with his band, Ayushmann Bhava. His concerts have received an enthusiastic response during his second music tour in the U.S.
What happened at Ayushmann Khurrana's New York City concert?
On Saturday, at his New York City concert, an unexpected moment occurred when a fan threw several dollar bills on stage to show appreciation for Ayushmann’s lively performance.
Ayushmann paused, took the microphone, and politely asked the fan to donate the money to charity instead.
This incident happened during a break in Ayushmann's performance of his hit song "Pani Da Rang" from his debut movie, Vicky Donor (2012).
The unexpected shower of dollars left him surprised, and he addressed the fan, saying, “Paaji, aisa na karein yar. Please don't do this. Donate it to a charity instead. I love you, but please use it for a good cause quietly, without showing anyone. What would I do with this?"
The crowd cheered as he resumed singing, appreciating his considerate response.
Social Media reactions
Ayushmann's gesture quickly gained praise online. A concert-goer shared a video of the moment on Instagram, criticising the act as disrespectful and praising Ayushmann's dignified response.
“It’s disheartening to see such a tasteless act during a concert. Ayushmann Khurrana, known for his humility, paused the show to urge the audience to donate to charity instead of flaunting wealth. His reaction was both classy and meaningful,” the user wrote.
Another comment read, “He is such a gem! Very well said.”
Ayushmann Khurrana’s next appearance will be in the upcoming film, Thama.
