PM Modi hosts high tea for future ministers today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a high tea for newly elected members of parliament and prospective ministers ahead of their swearing-in ceremony. The event took place at his residence on Sunday afternoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a high tea for newly elected members of parliament and prospective ministers ahead of their swearing-in ceremony. The event took place at his residence on Sunday afternoon.

 

Prominent leaders such as Nirmala Sitharaman, Sarbananda Sonowal, Piyush Goyal, S Jaishankar, and Dharmendra Pradhan were among those seen arriving at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

 

The gathering included BJP leaders and allies, with Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy and party leader Bandi Sanjay arriving together. Chirag Paswan of LJP (Ram Vilas) confirmed his attendance, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister. Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Kiren Rijiju, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and others were also present.

 

Ramdas Athawale, Republican Party of India Rajya Sabha MP, shared his excitement about Modi's third term and his responsibility in the government. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan praised Modi's leadership and vision for a developed India. Despite speculation, Chauhan mentioned he had no information about any ministerial post for himself.

 

Other notable attendees included BJP leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia, Manohar Lal Khattar, Raksha Khadse, Nityanand Rai, Harsh Malhotra, Bhagirath Choudhary, JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, and Rajnath Singh. The ceremony saw leaders like Jitin Prasada and Ravneet Singh Bittu arriving early in the morning.

 

The swearing-in ceremony for PM Modi and his council of ministers was scheduled for 7.15 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had earlier passed a resolution electing Modi as their leader. Security arrangements for the event included 1,100 traffic police personnel, NSG commandos, drones, and snipers, ensuring a secure environment.

 

The guest list highlighted India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy, with leaders and state heads from neighbouring regions and the Indian Ocean region invited as distinguished guests.

 

This swearing-in follows the recent election results where the BJP won 240 seats, with Congress securing 99 seats. This marks a decline from the BJP's 303 seats in the 2019 general elections and 282 seats in 2014.

 

The event underscored the significance of Modi's leadership and the anticipation for his new term, with the participation of key political figures and a focus on maintaining strong regional relationships.
