Swati Maliwal's Statement in Bibhav's Bail Case, and Tiz Hazari Court Reserves Order on Bail Plea.

Tiz Hazari court recently heard the bail plea of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Arvind Kejriwal, in connection with the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case.

Maliwal expressed concerns in court, stating that after Kumar's arrest, efforts were made to portray him as a hero, while she was labelled a BJP agent. Kumar's counsel, N Hariharan, highlighted a three-day delay in filing the complaint.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a seven-day extension of his interim bail in the now-scrapped excise policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party cited Kejriwal's deteriorating health, indicating symptoms that could signal a serious illness. Kejriwal, who was granted bail on May 10 to campaign for Lok Sabha polls, is required to surrender on June 2.

In tragic news, six newborn babies lost their lives in a fire that engulfed a children's hospital on the first floor of a residential building. Oxygen cylinders stored on the ground floor exacerbated the blaze.

Locals claim to have previously raised safety concerns with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, but no action was taken. The police have arrested Dr. Naveen, the hospital owner, suspecting a short-circuit as the cause of the fire.

During the hearing of Bibhav Kumar's plea for bail, the State emphasised that written grounds for arrest were not required, as it was not a UAPA or PMLA case.

The absence of video footage from the alleged incident site raised suspicions, with the State suggesting it could be due to technical issues or intentional removal.

Representing the State, APP Atul Kumar Srivastava argued that Bibhav's service as a personal secretary had been temporarily terminated, questioning his presence at the scene.

The State also raised concerns about why security personnel did not alert emergency services during the incident.
