A 13-year-old girl in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district was allegedly raped by a 15-year-old boy in her school. The minor accused was sent to the juvenile centre and his four accomplices, who recorded the act and blackmailed the girl's family, were arrested.

 

The incident took place on May 15. The girl was allegedly raped by the accused boy in a classroom when there were no teachers or staff members present.

Four men recorded the incident and blackmailed the victim's family, demanding Rs 2 lakh. They also circulated the video on WhatsApp.

 

The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and Information Technology Act.

 

The police investigation revealed that the accused had been threatening the girl's family, demanding money. Her mother approached the police and the accused were arrested within hours of filing the complaint. The minor accused was sent to a juvenile centre.

 

The girl was sent for a medical examination and the report is awaited.

 

The accused have been identified as Balasubramanyam (22), Chandrasekhar (22), Teja (19), and Harikrishna (20). They have been arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

 

The police are investigating the case further.
