Amit Shah : SP, Congress didn't want Ram temple in Ayodhya; Modi honoured people's sentiments

Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Samajwadi Party and the Congress on Wednesday of opposing the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

During a public rally in Muzaffarnagar to support BJP candidate Sanjeev Baliyan ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Shah credited the Narendra Modi government with honoring the public's sentiments by building the temple.

"Akhilesh Yadav ji's party (SP) and the Congress never wanted the Ram temple to be built in Ayodhya," Shah stated. "The Congress kept the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi stuck for 70 years but Modi ji won the case, performed bhoomi pujan, and also the consecration of Ramlalla."

Shah also criticized the INDIA bloc, alleging their involvement in various scams. "Those part of the arrogant alliance are the ones involved in scams and corruption worth Rs 12 lakh crore... they (INDIA bloc) held a rally where they talked about giving protection to the corrupt," Shah asserted.

Regarding the migration issue in Uttar Pradesh, Shah claimed that the BJP government had effectively curbed it. "After the formation of the BJP government in 2017, the terror of goons has been ended here and migration has been stopped," Shah proclaimed.

He further highlighted the Modi government's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it was appreciated by the people of the country.

Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, who attended the rally with Shah, praised the government's decision to posthumously confer the Bharat Ratna upon his grandfather, Chaudhary Charan Singh. "None of the INDIA bloc leaders has said a word about Chaudhary Charan Singh getting the Bharat Ratna," Chaudhary noted.

Chaudhary Charan Singh, recognized as a champion of farmers, was honored with India's highest civilian award on February 9.
