Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) recorded a 53.3 per cent year-on-year increase in August revenue to NT$514.81 billion, equivalent to approximately USD 16.3 billion. Revenue for the month also rose 10.1 per cent compared with July, extending the strong growth reported by the world's leading contract chipmaker in 2026.

August revenue increased from NT$467.58 billion, or about USD 14.83 billion, recorded in July. TSMC had reported a 44.7 per cent year-on-year rise in July, making the latest monthly figures an indication of faster growth in August.

For the January-August period, the company's consolidated revenue reached NT$3,386.87 billion, approximately USD 107.45 billion. This represented a 39.3 per cent increase over NT$2,431.98 billion, or around USD 77.16 billion, reported during the corresponding period of 2025, based on TSMC's revenue report released on Thursday.

The performance comes as TSMC continues to increase production capacity to serve demand for advanced semiconductors, particularly those used in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

During August, TSMC approved a capital budget of about USD 29.44 billion. The allocation is intended for installing advanced technology capacity and building fabrication facilities.

The latest figures show that the company's growth remained strong through August, while year-to-date revenue growth stayed above the 37 per cent increase recorded through July.

In the previous month, TSMC had posted revenue of approximately NT$467.58 billion, described as about USD 16.03 billion, marking a 44.7 per cent year-on-year increase. Its consolidated net revenue had also risen 5.6 per cent from June 2026. The 10.1 per cent month-on-month increase in August therefore represented a further acceleration in revenue growth.

With revenue for the first eight months of 2026 up 39.3 per cent from a year earlier, TSMC is entering the remaining months of the year with strong year-to-date performance. Its continuing capacity expansion is focused on meeting demand for increasingly advanced semiconductor technologies.
