Former India pacer Aaron urges RCB to rely less on Kohli

Speaking to Star Sports, Aaron expressed concern over RCB's lack of rhythm due to the underperformance of domestic players. "If you have to be anywhere at the top or middle of the table at this point, you have to have domestic players who are firing, and you cannot always rely on Virat Kohli," stated the 34-year-old Aaron.

Former Indian pacer, Varun Aaron, emphasized the need for Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) domestic players to rise to the occasion and diminish their reliance on skipper Virat Kohli in the ongoing IPL season.

Kohli has been a standout performer for RCB, currently holding the Orange Cap with an impressive tally of 361 runs in 7 innings, boasting a strike rate of 147.34, and achieving a highest score of 113 not out.

Speaking to Star Sports, Aaron expressed concern over RCB's lack of rhythm due to the underperformance of domestic players. "If you have to be anywhere at the top or middle of the table at this point, you have to have domestic players who are firing, and you cannot always rely on Virat Kohli," stated the 34-year-old Aaron, who retired from first-class cricket earlier this year.

Highlighting the significant investment made in players, Aaron emphasized the necessity for them to deliver on the field. Aaron Finch, former Australian limited-overs captain, echoed similar sentiments, suggesting RCB needs an explosive middle-order batter to complement Kohli.

RCB's current match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens is seen as a crucial test for the team.

Meanwhile, Aaron Finch praised Travis Head's fearless batting, noting his ability to overcome the fear of failure and play aggressive cricket.

In another IPL match, seamer T Natrajan's exceptional performance of 4/19 went unnoticed amidst a high-scoring game, with Finch attributing it to the timing of his wickets.
